Re-releasing a book is never much fun. It's a lot of rework, uncertainty, and the idea that you've already released this in some form once, and folks have purchased it. The last thing an author wants to do is continue revising and releasing new versions of their books every few months. It's confusing to readers.
But sometimes it's necessary to ensure continuity across a series. In my case, I had a bit of an author epiphany last year. I'd been doing a lot of research and planning around the future of my writing career, creating steps that would help me establish long-term, maintainable goals, with you, Dear Reader, in mind.
Part of that plan was to continue writing in the Galefire world until I had three books completed. Some of the things I discovered along the way made it nearly impossible not to do a revision on the first book. So many strange and interesting mysteries to introduce. Better ways to wrap up existing threads. Allowing the characters to come forth and stretch a little more.
This is a good thing. A very good thing. Galefire (now Galefire I : Fade Rippers) has changed. You'll notice a new cover, featuring only Lonnie this time (thanks to the wonderful Eloise J Knapp). You'll notice the new subtitle, necessary to establish continuity across the titles. The story is the same, only more 3D.
I know you will love it.
Those of you who have already purchased this through Amazon should be able to get the updated version from the Manage Digital Content section of your account. If not, I'd be happy to send you the updated version free of charge. Just be prepared to send a screen shot of the old version of the book, and I will hook you up.
Find out where to buy the book on my Galefire Product Page.
The best part about Galefire is the new mailing list I have going as well. When you join, you'll get all the upcoming news for the series and have access to FREE short stories featuring characters in the Galefire world. Click (here) to subscribe.
